Gosport Branch Submariners Charity Ride
Submariners complete Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Two former submariners, David Wheatley and Al Smith, joined the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride this year. They rode their classic bikes in style from Southampton to the New Forest, along with hundreds of other dapper riders.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a global event that supports Prostate cancer research and Men’s mental health causes. David and Al raised more than £600 for these vital charities, contributing to the impressive worldwide total of $7.4M.
Dave, a member of The Gosport Branch of the submariners assosciation, and Al enjoyed the ride so much that they are already planning to do it again next year.
RIDING DAPPER FOR A CAUSE
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride unites classic and vintage styled motorcycle riders from all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in Sydney, Australia, by Mark Hawwa. It was inspired by a photo of TV Show Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit. Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way of connecting niche motorcycle enthusiasts and communities while raising funds to support the men in our lives.
