The Royal British Legion in Ireland requests the honour of your presence, and that of the members of your organisation, at our Annual Commemoration and Wreath-Laying Ceremony at The Irish National War Memorial Gardens at Islandbridge, Dublin on Saturday, 8th July 2023. This annual Somme Anniversary event commemorates those who lost their lives in the World Wars, the estimated 60,000 Irish men and women from all parts of the Island of Ireland, who served and died in those conflicts.

The ceremony will commence at 12.30pm with a parade of the Standards of Royal British Legion in Ireland and international Ex-Services organisations. This will be followed by an Ecumenical Service of Remembrance and laying of official wreaths.

All guests should be in their seats by 12.20pm, in readiness for the ceremony beginning at 12.30pm.The ceremony is expected to conclude by 2.30pm. Afterwards light refreshments will be provided at the Memorial Park site. We hope that you will join with us there.

If you or a nominee wishes to lay a wreath on behalf of your organisation please register your intention in advance by emailing adminroi@britishlegion.org.ukgiving the details of who will be laying the wreath, and whether you would like to order a wreath from the Royal British Legion or will be bringing your own. Wreaths (Type B or C) may also be ordered from our online Poppy Shop.
