HMS TRUCULENT MEMORIAL SERVICE

Dear Friends and Shipmates,
The Medway Towns Branch of the Submariners Association are holding the Annual Memorial Service for those who lost their lives when HMS/M TRUCULENT was sunk following a collision on 12th. January 1950. Sixty-four Naval and Dockyard personnel lost their lives – the dockyard personnel were onboard for Post Refit sea trials.

The crew of five of an Avro Lancaster from RAF Kinross were also lost when their plane crashed when it was taking off to search for survivors.

The service will be held on Saturday 13th. January 2024 in the St. Georges Centre, Chatham, Kent ME4 4UH on the University Campus at the bottom of Dock Road. (Used to be HMS PEMBROKE – Chatham Navy Barracks).

The Service will start at 1050 hrs. followed by a buffet/tots/wine/coffee/tea etc.
