On Friday, 2nd February 2024, the Morecambe Branch welcomed the Barrow Branch to the Bay for their annual First Footing celebration.
Fifteen members made the 100-mile round trip to enjoy the camaraderie, and let us not forget the Pie & Peas, with the MBSA. After a short meeting, where normal protocols were observed, and those no longer with us were remembered, the members alighted to the Bar, of the Commodore Club in Heysham, where much dit spinning was witnessed and friendships rekindled.
It was good to see Barrow’s Honorary President Barrie Downer, with his wife Margaret, out and about after his recent bout of illness. The celebrations continued until 2300 when the team had to depart to make the return trip to Barrow before the carriage turned into a pumpkin.
The Members of the MBSA look forward to hosting the team again when they return to the Bay, in June, for the Brewhouse Gathering.
