SA Donation to Military vs Cancer
On 2nd June, Vice Chairman Andy Knox and committee member Graeme McCabe along with over 70 serving personnel, veterans and civilians took part in the Loch Lomond Challenge, canoeing on Loch Lomond, walking part of the West Highland Way or a mixture of both in aid of Military vs Cancer raising over £19,000. It was a fantastic day, location with fantastic people pulling together to get everyone through a challenging day.
The SAC congratulated both Andy and Graeme on their achievement, a discussion was held where by the SAC agreed to donate £1,000 to the Lomond Challenge fundraising taking the total to over £20,000. Both Andy and Graeme were thankful to the committee and the wider association for the donation which will go to helping Military vs Cancer support those suffering from this awful disease.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the incredibly kind donation of £1000.00 in support of Military vs Cancer. Donations like this are difficult to come by and make a huge difference to the support we can offer those coming to us for help. It is even more pertinent as we have recently been approached by an ex-submariner for support as he is struggling with the effects of cancer. Thank you for taking the time to support Military vs Cancer, we will continue our work in helping all military / MOD personnel, past and present suffering from cancer.
