The team from the Gosport Branch of the Submariners Association completed the South Downs Way cycle ride at EastBourne Pier

Article by Ron Gordon

I am pleased to report that the team from the Gosport Branch of the Submariners Association completed the South Downs Way cycle ride at Eastbourne Pier last Friday evening.

Every member of the team found it to be a very tough challenge with the final day ride to Eastbourne being brutal.

Over the 3 days the team rode 110 miles (177 kilometres) with a total ascent of 14,714 ft (4,484 metres). Putting that in perspective – Ben Nevis is 4413 ft (1,345 metres).

Congratulations to the team who have so far raised £2,325 for Veterans Outreach Support (VOS). If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause please click on the following link.
