Exeter Branch on Tour

From June 12th to 14th, the Exeter Branch enjoyed a trip to Portsmouth and its dockyard museums and particularly enjoyed the Mary Rose exhibition. As you might expect the evenings were filled with lots of laughter and a few dits.

Morecambe Bay Branch June Meeting 2024

The Morecambe Bay Branch of the SA met for their June meeting at the Commodore Club, Heysham, with 15 of 26 members present. The main focus was preparing for Armed Forces Day on 22 June. Morecambe will host the event a week earlier to utilise available display assets, including the RAF FALCONS and an RAF LANCASTER flyover, pending the release of the BBMF grounding order.

Submariners Association Sponsor Peak District Challenge

The Peak District Challenge 2024 raised over £16,000 for Military vs Cancer, thanks to 46 participants and sponsors like The Submariners Association. The three-day event featured a 22-mile hike and canoe races, with stunning locations and early summer sunshine enhancing the experience. The funds bring the charity closer to opening a respite holiday lodge for veterans affected by cancer.

Honouring the Life and Service of Graham McGuinness

Members of the Morecambe Bay Submariners Association honoured Graham McGuinness at the Charnock Richard Crematorium in Chorley. The ceremony included heartfelt tributes to Graham’s exceptional service in submarines and the nuclear industry.

Music & Camping festival – At E@SE 2024

Our host site this year is the Spilsbury & Jones Brewing Company at Orleton Court Farm Campsite, a beautiful venue set amongst orchards and hop fields, bordering the river Teme and with its own fishing lake.
